Remote Portable Emergency Shutdown switch

EATOPS deploys a safety critical system on the Coral South FLNG installation. This portable Emergency Shutdown system is responsible to protect the 1-billion USD vessel during its operations along the coastline of Mozambique. The portable-ESD-switch is using the ATEX Motorola radios (DP4801 Ex) carried by the crew members to allow an emergency shutdown from any location on the deck. This technical solution was selected by TechnipFMC to improve the safety onboard during the gas transfer between the FLNG and the offshore tankers approaching the installation.

Our eatops engineers will join forces with Nokia Korea during the commissioning phase and sea trials at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea (Q2-2021).
